Who IS HANNAH HOLMES?
Pushing the Limits
When I started running I was the slowest kid on the high school track team. I was only able to run a block at my first practice. I kept coming back because I loved running and I believed I was capable of more and wanted to find out what that was. Over time consistent practice led to faster times but I wasn’t taking the sport too seriously.
I decided to walk on to my college track and cross country teams simply because the teams were small and I loved running. Over those 4 years I improved my 5k time by almost 5 minutes, ran distances from 800m to 26.2mi, competed in 4 national championships, and earned NAIA All-American in the marathon distance. It was during this time in college that my competitive spirit really caught fire. When I ran I felt unbreakable. The trials I faced in a race or tough practice only made me stronger. I wanted to see how far the limit stretched.
After college I had a string of injuries that almost led me to give up on running entirely in 2017. I thought maybe I had found my breaking point. But the idea of giving up my passion for running before I achieved all that I felt I was capable of hurt more than any physical pain. I took a break from road racing and found an outlet for my competitive fire at a local CrossFit gym.
I did my first OCR race through the gym in 2018 and quickly fell in love with this new type of challenge. From 2019-2021 I made 12 OCR podiums including 2nd at Spartan CO Springs 2021 and 1st at OCR World Championships 2021 in the women’s pro team relay.

Why work with Me?
I love being a part of something bigger than myself and helping others succeed.

I got to dig into this as a senior in college when I was elected team captain. I loved teaching the ropes to the younger athletes on the team and cheering them on as they discovered their potential.

After graduation I looked for local opportunities to give back to the running community. I had the opportunity to volunteer as an assistant track and cross country coach at Bear Creek High School (Lakewood, CO) for 3 years. I soaked up an immense amount of technical coaching knowledge from some amazing coaches and built incredible relationships with those high school athletes. I worked with middle distance, long distance, cross country, and hurdles athletes. I also supervised in the weight room and designed conditioning workouts.

I took that knowledge and grew it as I became involved with the youth track and field summer program through Colorado Association of Recreational Athletics. During that time I was also chosen to coach the Wednesday Night Speed Workouts at Boulder Running Company (Littleton, CO) for a community of runners with a variety of ages and paces.

As a coach I will bring my diverse background of coaching experience combined with my personal experience as a runner and elite OCR athlete to design the best program to fast track your success.
